Teslameter provides users with the ability to observe current electromagnetic fields in their surroundings. The application is straightforward; upon launching Teslameter, users can position their iPhone near ferromagnetic materials such as iron or steel, or any magnetic object. The app will then quantify the magnetic fields along the X, Y, and Z axes, presenting measurements in microteslas. Additionally, it offers a comprehensive magnitude reading calculated using the formula (X² + Y² + Z²).
Functionality is rooted in the integration of a compass within the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 models, enabling Teslameter to detect disturbances caused by ferromagnetic metals or other magnetic influences. It is important to note that Teslameter is not a genuine teslameter and is intended solely for recreational use.
